Has the BBC's 'Who Do You Think You Are?' got you interested in researching your own family history? Are your ancestors from Ireland? Did they serve in the military?

Find my Past have just released Merchant Navy Seaman Records! These records are index cards used by the Registrar General of Shipping and Seaman between the two world wars to produce a centralised index to merchant seamen serving on British merchant navy vessels.

The records have been recieving a lot of publicity so far, mostly because some of the ID cards feature photos. So for the first time, you can discover what your ancestors looked like!
